Hello LoveButterflies, I must apologise that it has been a while since I posted. Life has been happening - but alas, that is no excuse! They will be more frequent from now on [ I hope!:-) ]
I recently received an inbox on Facebook from a high school friend of mine. We haven’t’ spoken in what seemed like forever, and she asked for my number to join a WhatsApp group. I reluctantly sent through the number and not even 10minutes went by before I got the notification on WhatsApp.
All my high school friends from 2008 are in the group. I haven’t seen most of these dolls in years. Like clockwork, the reminiscing started. I have spent the past 2 days laughing uncontrollably. (Similar to that of a retarded seal, where I clap my hands and yet no sound comes out – I cannot exactly blur out laughing at work!) We took trips down memory lane to those high school years. Most of the conversations revolved around the tasteless choice in boys, the shenanigans we got up to during school hours and of course where we all finding ourselves now. Needless to say, I am pleased to see that they have not changed too dramatically. We are all much more mature than we were then. [again, I hope! ]
We sometimes take for granted the simple effort that we need to make in order to reconnect. As we grow older and more mature, so do our mindsets and the things that mattered back then is nothing but a faint and distant memory now. Maybe you should give it a go. That friendship that took a back seat because life got in the way could maybe be revitalized when given the opportunity. It is also true that some broken friendships are best left as is, due to reasons you wish to forget. No biggie. Try the ones that might be worth it!
Go ahead, take the plunge! I am looking forward to see how this unexpected reunion will turn out!
